Solvite, the UK’s best-known wallcovering adhesive brand, turned to FK3 when they needed a web presence. The goal was to launch a website that could support their market leadership, help customers choose the right products from a range of 12 options, provide home decorating advice, and drive traffic to strategic retail partners for purchase.
As this would be Solvite’s first website, FK3 started with a full online strategy, then constructed a wireframe that met all of the key objectives. SEO and store locator functionality were incorporated, and to provide quick, relevant information to Solvite’s two customer segments, consumer and trade, a two-channel website was constructed powered by a back-end database that served up content relevant to the customer type.
To best display the range of Solvite products, the website was designed in a highly graphical style, complete with a home decorating Inspiration Page. A product selector tool was created to help consumers choose the right products for their design goals based on experience level, wall covering type, size of the room being decorated, and location of the room, while fun facts, historic TV commercials and downloadable screen ‘wallpapers’ provided an engaging experience.
